MAY 1ST , 2009: Sesame Place

Shane received his 23rd consecutive perfect spelling test score this week. He's been promised that if he has a "perfect season" he gets to spend a day at Sesame Place with a friend but Terry and I decided to take him on Friday as it was opening day for the 2009 season.

2009 new attraction? The Count's Splash Castle! We've heard about little
else since the park's latest brochure arrived in the mail last week.

Every few minutes that bucket on top fills, tips and pours out about a jillion gallons of water

Hanging out in Elmo's World

And chillin' with Big Bird

Riding the carousel after dinner and getting ready to take part in the parade

Backstage before the parade with Prairie Dawn

The Count

Zoe

Telly

His good friend and fellow redhead, Elmo

Telling Grover that he's read his classic "The Monster at the End of This Book"
and just saw in the gift shop that they've released a long overdue sequel.

We didn't get to meet Ernie, Bert or Cookie Monster because right after
this Shane was called to take his place on the float.

Rockin' Around the Block:
At the top right you'll see the inflatable Elmo float

Just like the penguins in Madagascar, all you need to do is
"Smile and wave, boys; smile and wave".

Thanks to Michael Joyce and everyone at Sesame Place
for a great time and looking forward to more fun this summer!

Shane earned a wonderful day, and he got one.

What a great experience just to look into and see the day. What a great experience it must have been to have the day.

Congratulations to Shane, and for the ongoing results of your great parenting!
